How to Manage Two-Factor Authentication

Enhancing Account Security

Add an extra layer of security to your hoo.be account with two-factor authentication (2FA).

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

2FA requires two forms of verification when logging in: your password and a code from your phone. This makes your account much more secure.

Setting Up 2FA

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Click on "Security"
  3. Find "Two-Factor Authentication"
  4. Click "Enable" or "Set Up"
  5. Choose your method:
    • Authenticator app (recommended)
    • SMS text messages
  6. Follow the setup instructions
  7. Save backup codes

Using an Authenticator App

  1. Download an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)
  2. Scan the QR code shown in hoo.be
  3. Enter the code from the app
  4. Verify and complete setup

Backup Codes

Save your backup codes in a safe place. These allow you to access your account if you lose your phone.

Disabling 2FA

  1. Go to Security settings
  2. Click "Disable Two-Factor Authentication"
  3. Confirm the action
  4. Enter your password to confirm

Best Practices

  • Enable 2FA for maximum security
  • Use an authenticator app instead of SMS
  • Keep backup codes safe
  • Don't share your 2FA codes
  • Update your phone number if it changes

Two-factor authentication significantly improves your account security.
